Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is an entitlement from the U.S. military provided to many military members. Previously it was called Basic Allowance for Quarters (BAQ).
When applying for a mortgage this benefit will be very valuable as it enables a lender to easily validate and calculate the ability the loan amount that you qualify for and the ability to repay.
BAH is not intended by the military to assist them in paying their mortgage, but is part of the qualification process. This is very valuable to you as you move forward in the mortgage process.
